[649] Which is that form (rūpa) that is impinging (sappaṭigha) and a faculty (indriya)? The eye faculty (cakkhundriya) … the body faculty (kāyindriya) — this is that form that is impinging and a faculty. Which is that form that is impinging and not a faculty? The form base (rūpāyatana) … the tangible base (phoṭṭhabbāyatana) — this is that form that is impinging and not a faculty. Which is that form that is non-impinging (appaṭigha) and a faculty? The femininity faculty (itthindriya), the masculinity faculty (purisindriya), the life faculty (jīvitindriya) — this is that form that is non-impinging and a faculty. Which is that form that is non-impinging and not a faculty? Bodily intimation (kāyaviññatti) … edible food (kabaḷiṅkāra āhāra) — this is that form that is non-impinging and not a faculty.
