[651] Which is that form (rūpa) which is a faculty (indriya) and gross (oḷārika)? The eye faculty (cakkhundriya) … the body faculty (kāyindriya) — this is that form which is a faculty and gross. Which is that form which is a faculty and subtle (sukhuma)? The femininity faculty (itthindriya), the masculinity faculty (purisindriya), the life faculty (jīvitindriya) — this is that form which is a faculty and subtle. Which is that form which is not a faculty and gross? The sense base of form (rūpāyatana) … the sense base of tangibles (phoṭṭhabbāyatana) — this is that form which is not a faculty and gross. Which is that form which is not a faculty and subtle? Bodily intimation (kāyaviññatti) … edible nutriment (kabaḷiṅkāra āhāra) — this is that form which is not a faculty and subtle.
