[637] Which is that form (rūpa) that is derived (upādā) and gross (oḷārika)? The eye sense base (cakkhāyatana) … the taste sense base (rasāyatana) — this is that form that is derived and gross. Which is that form that is derived and subtle (sukhuma)? The femininity faculty (itthindriya) … edible nutriment (kabaḷīkāra āhāra) — this is that form that is derived and subtle. Which is that form that is not derived (no-upādā) and gross? The tangible sense base (phoṭṭhabbāyatana) — this is that form that is not derived and gross. Which is that form that is not derived and subtle? The water element (āpodhātu) — this is that form that is not derived and subtle.
