[697] Which phenomena (dhammā) are associated with roots (hetu-sampayutta)? Those phenomena which are associated with those [root] phenomena: the feeling aggregate (vedanākkhandha) … the consciousness aggregate (viññāṇakkhandha) — these phenomena are associated with roots.
Which phenomena are dissociated from roots (hetu-vippayutta)? Those phenomena which are dissociated from those [root] phenomena: the feeling aggregate … the consciousness aggregate; and all form (rūpa) and the unconditioned element (asaṅkhatā dhātu) — these phenomena are dissociated from roots.
