[700] Which phenomena (dhammā) are not roots (hetū) but with roots (sahetukā)? Those phenomena which are not roots but are with roots by way of those [root] phenomena: the aggregate of feeling (vedanākkhandha) … the aggregate of consciousness (viññāṇakkhandha) — these phenomena are not roots but with roots.
Which phenomena are not roots and without roots (ahetukā)? Those phenomena which are not roots and are without roots by way of those [root] phenomena: the aggregate of feeling … the aggregate of consciousness, and all form (rūpa), and the unconditioned element (asaṅkhatā dhātu) — these phenomena are not roots and without roots.
