Nikkhepakaṇḍa

[722] Therein, which is the fetter of conceit (mānasaññojana)? The conceit (māna) "I am better," the conceit "I am equal," the conceit "I am inferior" — that which is conceit of such a kind: conceiving, the state of being conceited, loftiness, haughtiness, (holding oneself aloft like) a banner, flaunting, the desire of the mind (citta) for a banner — this is called the fetter of conceit.
