[736] Which phenomena (dhammā) are knots (ganthā)? The four knots: the bodily knot (kāyagantha) of covetousness (abhijjhā), the bodily knot of ill will (byāpāda), the bodily knot of adherence to rules and rituals (sīlabbataparāmāsa), the bodily knot of insistence that "this is the truth" (idaṃsaccābhinivesa).
