[815] Which phenomena (dhammā) are to be abandoned by development (bhāvanā)? The remaining greed (lobha), hatred (dosa), and delusion (moha), and the defilements (kilesā) standing together with them (tadekaṭṭhā); the aggregate of feeling (vedanākkhandha) … the aggregate of consciousness (viññāṇakkhandha) associated therewith; the bodily action (kāyakamma), verbal action (vacīkamma), and mental action (manokamma) originated thereby — these phenomena are to be abandoned by development.
Which phenomena are not to be abandoned by development? Setting aside those phenomena, the remaining wholesome (kusala), unwholesome (akusala), and indeterminate (abyākata) phenomena — pertaining to the sense sphere (kāmāvacara), pertaining to the form sphere (rūpāvacara), pertaining to the formless sphere (arūpāvacara), and unincluded (apariyāpanna): the aggregate of feeling … the aggregate of consciousness; and all form (rūpa) and the unconditioned element (asaṅkhatā dhātu) — these phenomena are not to be abandoned by development.
