[674] These three fetters (saññojana) and the defilements (kilesa) standing together with them (tadekaṭṭha); the aggregate of feeling (vedanākkhandha) associated therewith … the aggregate of consciousness (viññāṇakkhandha); the bodily action, verbal action, and mental action originating therefrom — these phenomena (dhammā) are to be abandoned by seeing (dassana).
Which phenomena are to be abandoned by development (bhāvanā)? The remaining greed (lobha), hatred (dosa), and delusion (moha), and the defilements standing together with them; the aggregate of feeling associated therewith … the aggregate of consciousness; the bodily action, verbal action, and mental action originating therefrom — these phenomena are to be abandoned by development.
Which phenomena are to be abandoned neither by seeing nor by development? Wholesome and indeterminate (kusalābyākata) phenomena of the sense sphere, of the form sphere, of the formless sphere, and unincluded (apariyāpanna): the aggregate of feeling … the aggregate of consciousness; and all form (rūpa) and the unconditioned element (asaṅkhatā dhātu) — these phenomena are to be abandoned neither by seeing nor by development.
