[828] Which phenomena (dhammā) are of the sense sphere (kāmāvacara)?
Taking the Avīci hell (Avīci-niraya) as the limit below, and counting in the Paranimmitavasavattī gods above, whatever aggregates (khandha), elements (dhātu), and sense bases (āyatana) — form (rūpa), feeling (vedanā), perception (saññā), volitional formations (saṅkhārā), and consciousness (viññāṇa) — within this interval have their sphere here and are included here: these phenomena are of the sense sphere.
Which phenomena are not of the sense sphere?
Those of the form sphere (rūpāvacara), those of the formless sphere (arūpāvacara), and the unincluded (apariyāpanna) — these phenomena are not of the sense sphere.
