[832] Which phenomena (dhammā) lead out (niyyānika)? The four paths (magga) that are not included (apariyāpanna) [in the three planes] — these are the phenomena that lead out.
Which phenomena do not lead out (aniyyānika)? Setting aside those phenomena, the remaining wholesome, unwholesome, and indeterminate (abyākata) phenomena — belonging to the sense sphere (kāmāvacara), the form sphere (rūpāvacara), the formless sphere (arūpāvacara), or not included [in the three planes]; the feeling aggregate (vedanākkhandha) … the consciousness aggregate (viññāṇakkhandha); and all form (rūpa), and the unconditioned element (asaṅkhatā dhātu) — these are the phenomena that do not lead out.
