[833] Which phenomena (dhammā) are fixed (niyata)? The five actions entailing immediate result (ānantarika-kamma), whatever wrong view (micchādiṭṭhi) is fixed, and the four paths (magga) that are unincluded (apariyāpanna) — these phenomena are fixed.
Which phenomena are not fixed (aniyata)? Setting aside those phenomena, the remaining wholesome, unwholesome, and indeterminate (abyākata) phenomena — pertaining to the sense sphere (kāmāvacara), the form sphere (rūpāvacara), the formless sphere (arūpāvacara), and unincluded: the aggregate of feeling (vedanākkhandha) … the aggregate of consciousness (viññāṇakkhandha), and all form (rūpa) and the unconditioned element (asaṅkhatā dhātu) — these phenomena are not fixed.
