[854] Therein, what is skill in offenses (āpattikusalatā)?
The five classes of offenses (āpattikkhandhā) are offenses (āpatti); the seven classes of offenses, too, are offenses. That which is skill in offenses with regard to those offenses — the wisdom (paññā), the understanding, … non-delusion (amoha), investigation of dhammas (dhammavicaya), right view (sammādiṭṭhi) — this is called skill in offenses.
Therein, what is skill in emerging from offenses (āpattivuṭṭhānakusalatā)?
That which is skill in emerging from those offenses — the wisdom, the understanding, … non-delusion, investigation of dhammas, right view — this is called skill in emerging from offenses.
