[87] Which is the one volition (cetanā) present on that occasion?
That which on that occasion is volition, intending, the state of having intended — this is the one volition present on that occasion.³
[Siam Raṭṭha editorial footnote, markers ¹–²–³:] These word-analyses do not agree with the earlier ones; for there both "tajjāmanoviññāṇadhātusamphassajaṃ" and "tajjāmanoviññāṇadhātusamphassajā" — "born of contact with the appropriate mind-consciousness element" — are found. Hence there may be either an excess there or a deficiency here.
