[888] Which phenomena (dhammā) are of the trainee (sekkhā)?
The four paths (magga) that are unincluded (apariyāpanna), and the three lower fruits of the ascetic life (sāmaññaphala) — these phenomena are of the trainee.
Which phenomena are of the one beyond training (asekkhā)?
The uppermost fruit of Arahantship (arahattaphala) — these phenomena are of the one beyond training.
Which phenomena are neither of the trainee nor of the one beyond training (nevasekkhānāsekkhā)?
The wholesome (kusala) in the three planes (bhūmi); the unwholesome (akusala); the result (vipāka) in the three planes; the functional indeterminate (kiriyābyākata) in the three planes; and form (rūpa) and Nibbāna — these phenomena are neither of the trainee nor of the one beyond training.
