[125] Therein, which is the eye element (cakkhu-dhātu)?
That eye which is sensitivity (pasāda) derived from the four primary elements (mahābhūta) … this too is "an empty village" — this is called the eye element.
Therein, which is the form element (rūpa-dhātu)?
That form which, derived from the four primary elements, is the appearance of colour (vaṇṇanibhā) … this too is the form element — this is called the form element.
Therein, which is the eye-consciousness element (cakkhuviññāṇa-dhātu)?
Dependent on the eye and forms there arises mind (citta), mentality (mano), mentation (mānasa), heart (hadaya), the lucid (paṇḍara), mentality, the mind base (manāyatana), the mind faculty (manindriya), consciousness (viññāṇa), the consciousness aggregate (viññāṇakkhandha), the corresponding (tajjā) eye-consciousness element — this is called the eye-consciousness element.
