[154] Therein, what is "association with the disliked (appiyehi sampayogo) is suffering (dukkha)"?
Here, whatever forms (rūpa), sounds (sadda), odours (gandha), tastes (rasa), and tangibles (phoṭṭhabba) there are for someone that are undesirable, unlovely, and disagreeable; or whoever they are who wish him misfortune, who wish him harm, who wish him discomfort, who wish him no security from bondage (yogakkhema) — whatever meeting with them there is, whatever coming together, conjunction, mingling: this is called "association with the disliked is suffering."
