[194] Therein, what is the cessation of suffering (dukkhanirodha)? The abandonment (pahāna) of craving (taṇhā), of the remaining defilements (kilesa), of the remaining unwholesome phenomena (akusalā dhammā), and of the three wholesome roots (kusalamūla) that are subject to taints (sāsava) — this is called the cessation of suffering.
