Of one afflicted by loss of relatives, or of one afflicted by loss of wealth, or of one afflicted by loss through illness, or of one afflicted by loss of virtue, or of one afflicted by loss of view; of one possessed of one or another loss, of one afflicted by one or another painful state (dukkhadhamma) — the crying, the lamentation, the act of crying, the act of lamentation, the state of crying, the state of lamentation; the talk, the prattle, the raving, the wailing, the act of wailing, the state of wailing — this is called lamentation.
