[517] "Success" (iddhi): that which is the success (iddhi), full success (samiddhi), succeeding (ijjhanā), full succeeding (samijjhanā), gain (lābha), acquisition (paṭilābha), attainment (patti), full attainment (sampatti), touching (phusanā), realization (sacchikiriyā), entering upon (upasampadā) of those phenomena (dhammā).
"Basis of success" (iddhipāda): the aggregate of feeling (vedanākkhandha), the aggregate of perception (saññākkhandha), the aggregate of volitional formations (saṅkhārakkhandha), the aggregate of consciousness (viññāṇakkhandha) of one who has become thus (tathābhūta).
"He develops the basis of success": he cultivates (āsevati), develops (bhāveti), makes much of (bahulīkaroti) those phenomena; therefore it is said, "he develops the basis of success."
