[529] Therein, what is investigation (vīmaṃsā)? That which is wisdom (paññā), the act of understanding, … non-delusion (amoha), investigation of dhammas (dhammavicaya), right view (sammādiṭṭhi), the investigation-of-dhammas factor of awakening (dhammavicaya-sambojjhaṅga), a path factor, included in the path — this is called investigation. Therein, what is concentration (samādhi)? That which is steadiness of mind (citta), … right concentration (sammāsamādhi), the concentration factor of awakening (samādhi-sambojjhaṅga), a path factor, included in the path — this is called concentration. Therein, what is the volitional formation of striving (padhāna-saṅkhāra)? That which is the mental arousing of energy (vīriyārambha), … right effort (sammāvāyāma), the energy factor of awakening (vīriya-sambojjhaṅga), a path factor, included in the path — this is called the volitional formation of striving. Thus he is endowed with, fully endowed with, has come to, fully come to, has arrived at, fully arrived at, and is possessed of this investigation, this concentration, and this volitional formation of striving. Therefore it is said: "possessed of investigation, concentration, and the volitional formation of striving" (vīmaṃsā-samādhi-padhāna-saṅkhāra-samannāgato).
