[60] The aggregate of perception (saññākkhandha) is sevenfold: there is that which is wholesome; there is that which is unwholesome; there is that which is indeterminate (abyākata); there is that which pertains to the sense sphere (kāmāvacara); there is that which pertains to the form sphere (rūpāvacara); there is that which pertains to the formless sphere (arūpāvacara); there is that which is unincluded (apariyāpanna). Thus the aggregate of perception is sevenfold.
In yet another way the aggregate of perception is sevenfold: there is that which is associated (sampayutta) with pleasant feeling (vedanā); there is that which is associated with painful feeling; there is that which is associated with neither-painful-nor-pleasant feeling; … there is that which has an internal object (ajjhattārammaṇa); there is that which has an external object (bahiddhārammaṇa); there is that which has both an internal and an external object (ajjhattabahiddhārammaṇa); there is that which pertains to the sense sphere; there is that which pertains to the form sphere; there is that which pertains to the formless sphere; there is that which is unincluded. Thus the aggregate of perception is sevenfold.
