[625] "Having abandoned covetousness (abhijjhā) in the world": therein, what is covetousness? That which is lust (rāga), infatuation (sārāga), … infatuation of the mind (citta) — this is called covetousness.
Therein, what is the world? The five aggregates subject to clinging (pañcupādānakkhandhā) are the world — this is called the world.
This covetousness, in this world, is stilled, quieted, calmed, extinguished, utterly extinguished, destroyed, utterly destroyed, dried up, utterly dried up, done away with. Therefore it is said: "having abandoned covetousness in the world."
