[917] Therein, what is shamelessness (ahirika)? That which feels no shame at what one ought to be ashamed of, feels no shame at the attainment of evil, unwholesome phenomena (dhammā) — this is called shamelessness. Therein, what is lack of moral dread (anottappa)? That which feels no dread at what one ought to dread, feels no dread at the attainment of evil, unwholesome phenomena — this is called lack of moral dread.
