[278] Phenomena (dhammā) that are taints (āsava), phenomena that are both taints and subject to taints (sāsava), and phenomena that are both taints and associated with taints (āsava-sampayutta) are associated (sampayutta) with three aggregates (khandha), with one sense base (āyatana), and with one element (dhātu); and they are associated with some [phenomena] of one aggregate, one sense base, and one element. From how many are they dissociated? They are dissociated (vippayutta) from one aggregate, from ten sense bases, and from sixteen elements; and they are dissociated from some [phenomena] of one sense base and one element.
