P.: There is not.
S.: Is there indeed a discourse that says: "Dependent on the eye and forms (rūpa), eye-consciousness arises"?
P.: Yes.
S.: If there is indeed a discourse that says, "Dependent on the eye and forms, eye-consciousness arises," then indeed, sir, it should not be said: "Dependent on the eye and the eye faculty, eye-consciousness arises."
