"Yes."
"A donor gives a gift; when it has been accepted by the recipient, kings carry it off, or thieves carry it off, or fire burns it, or water sweeps it away, or unloved heirs take it — is there merit?"
"Yes."
"If, when a donor gives a gift and it has been accepted by the recipient, kings carry it off, or thieves carry it off, or fire burns it, or water sweeps it away, or unloved heirs take it, and there is merit, then surely, good sir, you should not say: 'Merit arising from use increases.'"
