[1283] S. Is form (rūpa) action (kamma)?
P. Yes.
S. But was it not said by the Blessed One: "Threefold, bhikkhus, is the bodily volition (kāyasañcetanā) that is unwholesome bodily action (kāyakamma), having suffering (dukkha) as its outcome, having suffering as its result; fourfold, bhikkhus, is the verbal volition (vacīsañcetanā) that is unwholesome verbal action (vacīkamma), having suffering as its outcome, having suffering as its result; threefold, bhikkhus, is the mental volition (manosañcetanā) that is unwholesome mental action (manokamma), having suffering as its outcome, having suffering as its result. Threefold, bhikkhus, is the bodily volition that is wholesome bodily action, having happiness as its outcome, having happiness as its result; fourfold, bhikkhus, is the verbal volition that is wholesome verbal action, having happiness as its outcome, having happiness as its result; threefold, bhikkhus, is the mental volition that is wholesome mental action, having happiness as its outcome, having happiness as its result"? Is there indeed such a discourse (suttanta)?
P. Yes.
S. If so, then it should not be said that form is action.
