[1336] P. "Should it not be said that latent tendencies (anusayā) are without an object (anārammaṇā)?" S. "Yes." P. "While a wholesome or indeterminate mind (citta) is occurring, should a worldling (puthujjana) be said to be 'one who has latent tendencies'?" S. "Yes." P. "Is there an object (ārammaṇa) of those latent tendencies?" S. "It should not be said thus. …" P. "Then indeed latent tendencies are without an object."
