[1345] [Sakavādin:] Is a mind (citta) that has the future as its object (ārammaṇa) without an object?
[Paravādin:] Yes.
[S.:] But does it not have the future as its object?
[P.:] Yes.
[S.:] If it has the future as its object, then indeed, good sir, it should not be said, "A mind that has the future as its object is without an object"; thus to say, "A mind that has the future as its object is without an object," is wrong. Or again, if it is without an object, then indeed, good sir, it should not be said, "It has the future as its object"; thus to say, "That which is without an object has the future as its object," is wrong.
