[1506] [Sakavādin:] Would a person accomplished in view (diṭṭhisampanna) intentionally deprive a living being of life?
[Paravādin:] Yes.
[Sakavādin:] But was it not said by the Blessed One: "Just as, bhikkhus, the great ocean, stable in nature, does not overflow its bounds, even so, bhikkhus, whatever training rule (sikkhāpada) has been laid down by me for my disciples, that my disciples do not transgress even for the sake of life"? Is there indeed such a discourse (suttanta)?
[Paravādin:] Yes.
[Sakavādin:] Then indeed it should not be said that a person accomplished in view would intentionally deprive a living being of life.
