[157] [Sakavādin:] Is the suffering of hell (nerayikaṃ dukkhaṃ) apprehended (upalabbhati)? Is one who experiences (paṭisaṃvedī) the suffering of hell apprehended? [Paravādin:] Yes. [Sakavādin:] Is the great earth apprehended? … Is the great ocean apprehended? Is Sineru, the king of mountains, apprehended? Is water (āpo) apprehended? Is fire (tejo) apprehended?
