[1610] [Paravādin:] Should it not be said that conditionality (paccayatā) is fixed (vavatthitā)? [Sakavādin:] Yes. [Paravādin:] Is [one and the same thing] a condition by way of root condition (hetu-paccaya), and also a condition by way of object condition (ārammaṇa-paccaya), and also a condition by way of immediacy condition (anantara-paccaya), and also a condition by way of contiguity condition (samanantara-paccaya)? [Sakavādin:] It should not be said thus. … [Paravādin:] Then indeed it should not be said that conditionality is fixed.
