[1611] Sakavādin: Volitional formations (saṅkhārā) [arise] only with ignorance (avijjā) as condition (paccaya), and it should not be said, "With volitional formations as condition, ignorance also [arises]"? Paravādin: Yes. Sakavādin: Is not ignorance conascent with volitional formations? Paravādin: Yes. Sakavādin: If ignorance is conascent with volitional formations, then, good sir, it should indeed be said: "With ignorance as condition, volitional formations also [arise]; with volitional formations as condition, ignorance also [arises]."
