[1596] Sakavādin: Is conditionality (paccayatā) definitely fixed?
Paravādin: Yes.
Sakavādin: Is not investigation (vīmaṃsā) a root (hetu), and is it not also a predominant (adhipati)?
Paravādin: Yes.
Sakavādin: If investigation is a root and it is also a predominant, then indeed, sir, it should be said: "It is a condition (paccaya) by root condition (hetu-paccaya) and a condition by predominance condition (adhipati-paccaya)."
