[1715] Sakavādin: Should it not be said that the Saṅgha purifies an offering (dakkhiṇā)? Paravādin: Yes. Sakavādin: Are there not some who, having given a gift to the Saṅgha, bring the offering to success? Paravādin: Yes. Sakavādin: If there are some who, having given a gift to the Saṅgha, bring the offering to success, then indeed, sir, it should be said that the Saṅgha purifies an offering.
