[1793] [S.] For a person who is utterly fixed [in destiny] (accantaniyata), doubt (vicikicchā) would not arise?
[P.] Yes.
[S.] Has it been abandoned?
[P.] It should not be said thus. …
[S.] Has it been abandoned?
[P.] Yes.
[S.] By the path of stream-entry (sotāpattimagga)?
[P.] It should not be said thus. …
[S.] By the path of once-returning (sakadāgāmimagga)? … By the path of non-returning (anāgāmimagga)? … By the path of Arahantship (arahattamagga)?
[P.] It should not be said thus. …
[S.] By which path (magga)?
[P.] By an unwholesome (akusala) path.
[S.] Is the unwholesome path one that leads out (niyyānika), leading to destruction (khayagāmī), leading to awakening (bodhagāmī), leading to dismantling (apacayagāmī), taintless (anāsava), … not subject to defilement (asaṅkilesika)?
[P.] It should not be said thus. …
[S.] Is not the unwholesome path one that does not lead out, … subject to defilement?
[P.] Yes.
[S.] If the unwholesome path is one that does not lead out, … subject to defilement, then indeed you should not say: "For a person who is utterly fixed, doubt has been abandoned by an unwholesome path."
