[1798] P. Should it not be said: "There is absolute certainty (accanta-niyāmatā) for the ordinary person (puthujjana)"? S. Yes. P. But was it not said by the Blessed One: "Bhikkhus, here a certain person is endowed with exclusively black unwholesome phenomena (dhammā); that person, having sunk once, remains sunk"? Is there indeed such a discourse (suttanta)? S. Yes. P. Then indeed there is absolute certainty for the ordinary person.
