[236] S. Does the Arahant (arahā) fall away from Arahantship (arahatta)?
P. Yes.
S. Is it not so that lust (rāga) has been abandoned by the Arahant, cut off at the root, made like a palm stump, brought to non-existence, made of such a nature as not to arise again in the future?
P. Yes.
S. If lust has been abandoned by the Arahant, cut off at the root, made like a palm stump, brought to non-existence, made of such a nature as not to arise again in the future, then indeed, good sir, it should not be said: "The Arahant falls away from Arahantship."
