[383] Paravādin: Is it not to be said, "The past exists; the future exists"?
Sakavādin: Yes.
Paravādin: But was it not said by the Blessed One: "Bhikkhus, whatever form (rūpa) there is—past, future, or present, internal or external, gross or subtle, inferior or superior, far or near—this is called the aggregate of form (rūpakkhandha). Whatever feeling (vedanā) … whatever perception (saññā) … whatever volitional formations (saṅkhārā) … whatever consciousness (viññāṇa) there is—past, future, or present, internal or external, gross or subtle, inferior or superior, far or near—this is called the aggregate of consciousness (viññāṇakkhandha)"? Does such a discourse (suttanta) indeed exist?
Sakavādin: Yes.
Paravādin: In that case, the past exists; the future exists.
