[487] Sakavādin: Is there emission of the impurity, semen (asuci-sukka-visaṭṭhi), for an Arahant? Paravādin: Yes. Sakavādin: But was it not said by the Blessed One: "Bhikkhus, those bhikkhus who are worldlings (puthujjana), accomplished in virtue, who fall asleep mindful and clearly comprehending — their impurity is not released; and, bhikkhus, even those seers outside [the Dispensation] who are devoid of lust for sensual pleasures — their impurity too is not released. It is impossible, bhikkhus, there is no occasion, that an Arahant's impurity should be released" — does such a discourse (suttanta) truly exist? Paravādin: Yes. Sakavādin: In that case, it should not be said: "There is emission of the impurity, semen, for an Arahant."
