[737] "The knowledge (ñāṇa) as it really is (yathābhūta) of the passing away and reappearance (cutūpapāta) of beings — a power of the Tathāgata (tathāgatabala) — is noble (ariya), yet it should not be said that it has emptiness (suññatā) as its object (ārammaṇa) … that it has the signless (animitta) as its object … that it has the desireless (appaṇihita) as its object?"
"Yes."
"The knowledge as it really is of the destruction (khaya) of the taints (āsava) — a power of the Tathāgata — is noble, yet it should not be said that it has the desireless as its object?"
"It should not be said thus. …"
