(Paravādin): The power of the Tathāgata (tathāgatabala) that is knowledge (ñāṇa) as it really is (yathābhūta) regarding the possible and the impossible (ṭhānāṭhāna) is noble (ariya), yet is not to be said to have emptiness (suññatā) as its object (ārammaṇa)? S. (Sakavādin): Yes. P.: The power of the Tathāgata that is knowledge as it really is regarding the destruction (khaya) of the taints (āsava) is noble, yet is not to be said to have emptiness as its object? S.: It should not be said thus. … P.: The power of the Tathāgata that is knowledge as it really is regarding the possible and the impossible is noble, yet is not to be said to have the signless (animitta) as its object … to have the wishless (appaṇihita) as its object?
