[762] S. Is there a mind (citta) that is being liberated?
P. Yes.
S. Is there a mind that is becoming lustful, becoming hateful, becoming deluded, becoming defiled?
P. It should not be said thus. …
S. Is it not [the case that a mind is] either lustful or not lustful, either hateful or not hateful, either deluded or not deluded, either cut off or not cut off, either broken or not broken, either made or not made?
P. Yes.
S. If [a mind is] either lustful or not lustful, either hateful or not hateful, either deluded or not deluded, either cut off or not cut off, either broken or not broken, either made or not made, then indeed, sir, it should not be said: "There is a mind that is being liberated."
