[761] Sakavādin: Is what is liberated (vimutta) being liberated (vimuccamāna)?
Paravādin: Yes.
Sakavādin: But was it not said by the Blessed One: "When his mind (citta) is thus concentrated — purified, bright, unblemished, rid of defilement (upakkilesa), become malleable, wieldy, steady, and attained to imperturbability — he directs the mind to the knowledge (ñāṇa) of the destruction of the taints (āsava)" — does such a discourse (suttanta) indeed exist?
Paravādin: Yes.
Sakavādin: Then indeed it should not be said that what is liberated is being liberated.
