[1188] For whom the bodily formation (kāyasaṅkhāra) arose, did the verbal formation (vacīsaṅkhāra) cease for him? Yes. The question concerning the past should be elaborated in the same way in the section on arising (uppādavāra), in the section on cessation (nirodhavāra), and in the section on arising-and-cessation (uppādanirodhavāra). ___________
