[1248] For whomever the life faculty (jīvitindriya) arose, will the equanimity faculty (upekkhindriya) arise for that one?
For those endowed with the final mind (pacchimacitta), and for those for whom, in immediate succession to whichever mind (citta), the final mind associated with joy (somanassa) will arise — for these the life faculty arose, but the equanimity faculty will not arise for them. For the others, both the life faculty arose and the equanimity faculty will arise.
Or rather, for whomever the equanimity faculty will arise, did the life faculty arise for that one? — Yes (āmantā).
