[1271] For whomever, wherever, the nose faculty (ghānindriya) arose, will the faith faculty (saddhindriya) arise for that one there?
For those in the sense sphere (kāmāvacara) who are in their final existence (pacchimabhavika), the nose faculty arose for them there, but the faith faculty will not arise for them there. For the other beings of the sense sphere, both the nose faculty arose and the faith faculty will arise for them there.
Or: for whomever, wherever, the faith faculty will arise, did the nose faculty arise for that one there?
For beings of the form sphere (rūpāvacara) and of the formless sphere (arūpāvacara), the faith faculty will arise for them there, but the nose faculty did not arise for them there. For beings of the sense sphere, both the faith faculty will arise and the nose faculty arose for them there.
