[368] For whom, wherever, wholesome phenomena (dhammā) arose, will unwholesome phenomena cease for that one there?
For those endowed with the highest path (aggamagga), for Arahants, and for those who will obtain the highest path immediately after [a given] mind (citta): for them, wholesome phenomena arose there, but unwholesome phenomena will not cease for them there. For the others — those of four-constituent existence (catuvokāra) and of five-constituent existence (pañcavokāra): for them, wholesome phenomena arose there and unwholesome phenomena will cease.
Or, for whom, wherever, unwholesome phenomena will cease, did wholesome phenomena arise for that one there?
For those of the Pure Abodes (Suddhāvāsa), while the second mind is occurring: for them, unwholesome phenomena will cease there, but wholesome phenomena did not arise for them there. For the others — those of four-constituent existence and of five-constituent existence: for them, unwholesome phenomena will cease there and wholesome phenomena arose.
