[394] Is what is not woman (itthī) not the femininity faculty (itthindriya)? The femininity faculty is not woman but is the femininity faculty; setting aside woman and the femininity faculty, the rest are neither woman nor the femininity faculty. Is what is not the femininity faculty not woman? Woman is not the femininity faculty but is woman; setting aside woman and the femininity faculty, the rest are neither woman nor the femininity faculty. Is what is not man (purisa) not the masculinity faculty (purisindriya)? The masculinity faculty is not man but is the masculinity faculty; setting aside man and the masculinity faculty, the rest are neither man nor the masculinity faculty. Is what is not the masculinity faculty not man? Man is not the masculinity faculty but is man; setting aside man and the masculinity faculty, the rest are neither man nor the masculinity faculty. Is what is not life (jīvita) not the life faculty (jīvitindriya)? Yes. Is what is not the life faculty not life? Yes.
